A significant executive meeting of the Hotel Federation of Rajasthan was recently held in Kota. Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar attended the meeting to understand the concerns of hotel business owners. The meeting focused on discussing tourism development and industry challenges in the region.
In this blog, we’ll explore the key discussions, challenges highlighted, and solutions proposed during this important meeting.
Government Officials’ Vision
Kota South MLA Sandeep Sharma expressed his commitment to developing Kota beyond its educational identity. He emphasized on making the city a prominent tourism and industrial hub. The minister noted that this meeting would significantly boost tourism development in the Hadoti region.
Current Challenges in Tourism Sector
Federation president Hussain Khan identified several obstacles facing tourism development. He pointed out that Hadoti’s excellent tourist spots remain unexplored due to insufficient promotion.
The region previously lacked representation in the Hotel Federation, which affected its tourism growth. Now, with Ashok Maheshwari as Kota division president, efforts are being made to change this scenario.
Key Demands from the Federation

The federation, through its patron Surendra Singh Shahpura, has put forward crucial demands for tourism development. They are seeking a tourism development budget of ₹2,000 crores from the state government.
The federation is pushing for immediate implementation of the pending tourism policy. They’ve also raised concerns about tax and transportation issues, along with demanding exemptions for budget hotels and proper issuance of entitlement certificates.
Hotel Owners’ Perspective and Future Plans
Local hotel owners emphasized that depending solely on government support won’t produce results. They highlighted how most of Hadoti’s archaeological sites, except Bundi, remain unrecognized despite their rich heritage.
The owners also expressed concern about the lack of awareness regarding rules, which discourages investment in this sector.
Development Initiatives
Building on the concerns raised during the meeting, the Federation suggested strategic initiatives that can drive sustainable tourism growth in the region:
- Regular divisional meetings for better coordination
- Active promotion of government policies and exemptions
- Strategic placement of Kota’s tourist spots on national tourism map
- Enhanced collective efforts for regional tourism growth
Wrapping Up
The Hotel Federation’s executive meeting in Kota marks a crucial step toward addressing tourism challenges in the Hadoti region. With support from government officials and concrete demands from the federation, the region’s tourism sector is set for positive changes, provided the proposed measures are implemented effectively.
